Hallo zusammen!
Und schon wieder ein neuer Thread - diesmal aber die Eröffnung nicht mit losem Material, sondern mit einem Ortsbrief aus Amberg mit Mi.Nr.75, gelaufen am 13.3.1911!
Schöne Grüße

Hello guys
Found this Nr.75 with a Nr.180. Used on 15 of march 1920.
Interesting or...fake??

Hye Hornet785 (with the great avatar),
at first lets have a look on the appropriate porto-period from 1919-10-01 till 1920-06-05. Here we find 20 Pf as rate for the standart letter till 20 gramm. Your letter is correctly franked with 20 Pf.
Approching the end of the bavarian post-seignorage it was advisable to deplete surplus old(er) stamp-material as proven with no. 75.
You`ll find more examples of such so-called "deplete-frankings", in particular on parcel-cards too. It`s really no fake, just absolutely authentic.
Best regrads !
Tim
Hello Tim
Thank you for the answer. Do you think 4.00$ is too much money for that interesting period?
Thanks
Sylvain
Hello Sylvain,
just take a look on the stamp to the right of no. 75. What we see is one stamp of the so called "bavaria-farewell-issue", no. 150. This issue was published between 1920-02-14 and 1920-03-30. The bavarian post-seignorage officially ended on 1920-04-01.
Because of the fact that the german Reichspost primarily was not able to deliver a sufficient quantity of stamps the validity of the bavarian stamps was officially extended till 1920-06-30. Late-usages of bavarian stamps are proven mostly till september / october 1920.
In so far the usage of the farewell-issue was limited in a short period of months and especially letters with correct rated frankings of the bavarain-farewell-issue - I am really in love with - are very very nice material and $4.00 for yours is a very good price. You`ve made absolutely no mistake with that !
Best regards !
Tim
