Since I am here, I might as well post something. Here is an uncommon surviving use of the 24 cent 1861 stamp for a heavier domestic mail item. The rate was 3 cents per 1/2 ounce, so this is an 8-times rate for an internal letter. The docket tells us it was sent in 1866, which seems reasonable given the New York marking and the stamp.

Thanks Rob - always appreciated!
Hello collector friends!
I wanted to show a farming related cover. It's a simple letter showing the 2 cent domestic mail rate for the time.
The Jerome B Rice seed company was known for very interesting illustrations to promote their products.
Have a good day all!

And here is another farm related cover. This one was sent during the 3 cent war rate period in the United States. Other than that, it also shows a simple letter for internal mail.
What might interest some of you is that I still use tools similar to these on my own farm. The front of the cover shows a Planet Junior seeder. The seeding plates can be interchanged to make it work for a wide range of seeds with different sized and shapes.
The back of the cover shows a tool I call a wheel hoe (a hand propelled cultivator). I frequently use different types of wheel hoes on the farm.
Have a good day all!
