A good friend asked me if I could post a parcel card, including a question, here in the forum.
The question is about the ring stamp, which I would describe as a killer cancellation.
Since the killer cancel has a very unusual (cork???) shape, the question arises as to where this cancel hit the stamps.
A parcel was posted on 19 October 1921 at Magdeburg in Germany. It was addressed to Skoplje in Serbia, part of Jugoslavia where it arrived on 28 November 1921. The journey took 40 days.
- Magdeburg 19.10.21,
- weight 1kg 50g, accepted as a 1kg parcel for route via Czechoslovakia and Hungary,
- initially intended to be insured for an amount that might be “300 Mark” but now mostly deleted.
- rate 1.45 Gold Francs (GF) where 1 GF = 16 Marks ie total postage paid was 23.20M (8M on front 15.20M on back)
- via Magdeburg Customs
- via Halle (Saale) for Czechoslovakia, but marked ‘77’ probably in Prague and diverted to Wien 77, Austria
- Wien 77 25.X.21 delayed in Wien 77 until 7.XI.21
- Maribor (МАРИБОР), Slovenia, Jugoslavia 10.XI.21
- to Skoplje (СКОПЉЕ), Serbia, Jugoslavia, Postal Customs Clearance Warehouse 26.XI.21,
- Skoplje 28.XI.21
- parcel card signed by recipient 29.XI.1921
Thanks in advance for your suggestion.
