Hallo nordlicht,
Dieter
Hello Rob,
very interesting letter.
I have no idea about the words at the left side.
Dieter
Hello Dieter,
The words at lower left tells us it is paid to the Danish border. "fco dansk grenze"
I am not sure what the "3" at top left and the "2 1/2" on the back mean - if anything for the taxation of this letter.
Best,
Rob
Hello,
Small correction: "dansk grendse".
I have no idea what the "3" or "2 1/2" mean. I do not think that the "3" was the amount, which was paid in Norway (too low). May be it is just a card number.
Red crayon notations were often used in Hamburg (with Schilling) but a fractional number would be very unusual.
Regards,
nordlicht
nordlicht,
danke! I appreciate all corrections, big or small.
I will keep searching regarding the numbers. I agree that the "3" is probably a filing number or something like that.
If I learn more, I will share here.
Ich schätze ihre hilfe sehr

(I hope I got the Deutsch correct....)
Hallo Dieter,

vielen Dank
